OVERVIEW
RUGS BY ROD, an organization committed to the advancement of rehabilitation programs for individuals with a history of involvement in the criminal justice system. We are seeking funding to implement a pioneering initiative aimed at integrating mental health support and vocational training in textile design and carpentry to facilitate the successful reintegration of individuals within the community.
GOALS
- To positively impact the lives of 50 individuals annually, reducing recidivism rates and promoting community reintegration.
- To utilize, support, and introduce Holistic methods of treatment.
SPECIFICATIONS
Our proposed program, named "Carpentry for Rehabilitation and Mental Health (CARE)," aims to address these challenges by offering an education, comprehensive rehabilitation, and vocational training program. CARE will provide participants with:
- Mental Health Support: Licensed counselors and mental health professionals will offer individual and group therapy sessions, addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns prevalent among justice-involved individuals.
- Carpentry Training: Skilled carpentry instructors will deliver hands-on training, teaching participants fundamental carpentry skills and advanced techniques, equipping them with marketable vocational skills.
- Holistic Support: Career counseling, job placement assistance, financial literacy workshops, and mentorship programs will complement the vocational training, ensuring participants receive comprehensive support for successful reintegration into the workforce.
BUDGET AND UTILIZATION OF FUNDS:
The requested grant amount of $98,966 will be allocated as follows:
- Personnel Costs (Clinicians, Instructors, Counselors): 73%
- Equipment and Supplies: 12%
- Participant Support Services (Transportation, Material Costs): 15%
